NITI Aayog – IDFC Enterprise Survey

The Government of India has launched a series of initiatives to encourage and facilitate investment in India, by making the process simpler and faster. Ease of Doing Business is one such major initiative of the Government.

Towards this end NITI Aayog, in collaboration with the IDFC Institute, has initiated an Enterprise Survey of Manufacturing Firms, including Start-Ups across all States and Union Territories.

The primary objective of this Survey is to assess the Business Regulatory Environment in each State and UT and identify policy and regulatory hurdles faced by businesses in the States/UTs. The Survey will bring out a comprehensive analysis and report on State-level performance.

IMRB International has been contracted by NITI Aayog to undertake in person field interviews for the Survey. The survey across all States/UTs will be conducted during March to May 2016.

This Survey Report will complement the Governments “Make in India” initiative by taking stock of issues faced and providing impetus for State-level reforms that will make it easier to do business in India, while fostering competitive and cooperative federalism.
