Engagement Overview


The SoI signed between NITI Aayog and Alive and Thrive seeks to strengthen monitoring and supervision of public health and nutrition services during the first 1000 days of a child’s life.

The objective of this engagement is to provide critical insights into the operational challenges and opportunities of POSHAN Abhiyaan at two levels. First, at the level of the district convergent committees to improve the Abhiyaan's performance. Second, at the national level to aid NITI Aayog in improving the scheme and taking timely decisions.

Highlights/Achievements

 

Field Study

A field study was conducted on strengthening the role of medical colleges and hospitals in integrating and promoting maternal, infant, and young child nutrition in a few districts of Bihar and UP in two phases. Phase 1 was conducted from July to December 2019 and Phase 2 from January to June 2020.
