Engagement Overview


NITI Aayog and Saudi Centre for International Strategic Partnership entered into an agreement to expand bilateral relations.

Involvement of Indian Ministries/Government Bodies


The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (Ministry of Commerce and Industry) has been nominated as the nodal authority to constitute joint working groups for this purpose. The groups formed are on agriculture and food security; energy; industry; technology; and information technology.

Highlights

 

  • The first senior officials' meeting under the Saudi–Indian Strategic Partnership Council was held on 23 July 2020 to discuss and finalise the common agenda developed by the four joint working groups.

  • The second senior officials' meeting was held on 8 April 2021, under the chairmanship of CEO, NITI Aayog, and CEO, Saudi Center for International Strategic Partnerships. Both sides discussed investable projects, preparation for a ministerial-level meeting, and the way forward.
