Technical cooperation for supporting the Springshed Management Programme

Developing a document on best practices on spring revival based on the experiences in the Indian Himalayan region and in neighbouring countries

Organising half-yearly or annual workshops for sensitisation and dissemination of knowledge on springshed management

NITI Aayog, along with the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and the International Water Management Institute (IWMI), has compiled Best Practices in Springshed Management across the Indian Himalayan Region. The compilation, including FAQs, is a ready reckoner for field practitioners working on the revival of springs.

Meeting with SDC and IWMI on 6 May 2020 regarding the requirements and format for documenting the best practices

Meeting with SDC and IWMI on 4 August 2021 regarding finalisation of the compilation on Best Practices in Springshed Management across the Indian Himalayan Region

A stakeholder consultation on documenting best practices in springshed management is scheduled on 27 August 2021. The consultation is being organised in partnership with SDC and IWMI.
