Data Management and Analysis
- Overview
- The Data Management and Analysis Vertical primarily deals with issues relating to streamlining data usage for public policy. One of its key initiatives is the National Data and Analytics Platform (NDAP) which aims to democratize access to public government data by making data accessible, interoperable, interactive, and available on a user-friendly platform. It hosts datasets from various government agencies, presents them coherently, and provides tools for analytics and visualization
- Core Functions
- The core functions broadly cover:
- Data management and integration on NDAP including development of data collection strategies and coordination with Ministries; monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of NDAP; product strategy and roadmap for furthering the evolution of NDAP.
- Formulation of policy papers and strategy documents in collaboration with experts from the Government, academia and industry, and conducting seminars and workshops on data management and use in policy making.
- Document issues related to data management and usage, and leverage technology for improved statistical systems and processes.
- Function as the Secretariat for Women Entrepreneurship Platform, an initiative taken by NITI Aayog in 2018 to build a comprehensive ecosystem supporting women entrepreneurs across India. In 2022 WEP transitioned to a public private partnership model.
- Coordinate and liaison with the National Statistical Commission (NSC) on statistical surveys and data ecosystem as CEO, NITI Aayog is an ex-officio member of NSC.

- Build an ecosystem for women entrepreneurs through the Women Entrepreneurship Platform (wep.gov.in)
- The Women Entrepreneurship Platform (WEP) is an aggregator platform incubated in NITI Aayog in 2018 that transitioned into a public-private partnership (PPP) in 2022. Premised on three foundational pillars of ichcha shakti (the power of motivation); gyaan shakti (the power of knowledge) and karam shakti (power of action), WEP endeavors to support women entrepreneurs by overcoming information asymmetry and providing continuum of support to address six key ecosystem needs, viz. Access to Finance; Market Linkages; Training and Skilling; Mentoring & Networking; Compliance & Legal Assistance and Business Development Services. For this, WEP adopts a wide array of interventions with a focus on convergence and collaboration with varied stakeholders.
