Overview

The Sustainable Development Goals lay out a uniquely ambitious and comprehensive agenda for global development by 2030. NITI Aayog is the nodal institution for achieving SDGs in the country, leading the 2030 Agenda with the spirit of cooperative and competitive federalism.

It monitors progress at the national and sub-national levels through various tools such as the SDG India Index and Dashboard, the Multidimensional Poverty Index: Progress Review 2023, the North-Eastern Region Index and Dashboard, among others. Localization of the SDGs remains pivotal in ensuring that no one is left behind, making it a core focus of the division. These initiatives have bolstered statistical systems and established a robust monitoring framework encompassing all 17 Goals and over 100 indicators nationwide. With this enhanced and comprehensive edition, we aim to reaffirm India’s leadership in advancing the SDG agenda.
