Economics and Finance
Economics & Finance-I (E&F-I)
Overview

The Economics and Finance-I Division supports NITI Aayog’s mission of driving sustainable and inclusive growth by anchoring macroeconomic analysis, fiscal policy assessments, and trade diagnostics. The Division contributes to India’s long-term development strategy by generating forward-looking economic forecasts, developing evidence-based indices, and evaluating state-level economic resilience. It plays a pivotal role in supporting the Viksit Bharat @2047 vision by providing macroeconomic modelling and insights that inform national and state-level strategic planning. Through in-house research, collaborative engagements, and policy advisory to key ministries, the Division works to enhance productivity, fiscal prudence, and trade competitiveness. This supports India's transition to a developed economy by enabling data-driven decision-making, improved governance frameworks, and equitable growth opportunities for all.
